The Ambassador Ron J.P.M. van Dartel visited Podgorica on 5 and 6 February 2007. On that occasion the Ambassador Van Dartel had meetings with the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Montenegro, Dr. Igor Luksić and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Montenegro, Mr. Miraš Radović.

During the meeting with the Minister of Finance, thoughts were exchanged on the general political and economic situation in the Republic, with the emphasis on the process of integration in the period after the independence of Montenegro, on the reform of the financial system, on the macroeconomic situation and on the tax and budget politics.

The Minister of Justice of Montenegro Miraš Radović, received today in Podgorica the Ambassador of Holland, Ron Van Dartel.

During the meeting with the Minister of Justice, the Ambassador Van Dartel emphasized his satisfaction with the fact that Montenegro is in the company of other countries that are intensively preparing for the membership to the European Union. He said that the Netherlands is prepared to support Montenegro’s way to Europe. The Ambassador stressed that a well organised judiciary system is the foundation of the entire development of every country, and from there comes the willingness of the Netherlands to help its reform through the Project of the Evaluation of the Courts, implemented by the OSCE Mission in Montenegro. He also emphasised the importance of the cooperation between the two countries in fighting organised crime.
